Prediction activity. Since this assignment is online, finish the worksheet by yourself, and not with a partner.
1. Read the title and the quote shown before the beginning of the story: "Their bodies were never recovered. That was the dreadful part of it." Look at the drawing of the girl at the top of the page.
Before you begin to read the story, discuss the following questions with your partner, and agree on one answer for each question. Write this answer on your answer sheet in the before reading" line.
After you have answered these questions, begin reading the story and stop after line 38. Discuss and answer the questions again based on what you have read. Write your answers on the answer sheet on the appropriate lines.
Now finish the story. Decide with your partner whether or not your answers to the questions have changed, based on what you know at the end of the story. Write your final answers on the "after reading" lines.
